What is special about MediVoice Alert's Medical Alarm System?
It is a Medical Alarm System that allows two-way voice communication to a central station staffed with emergency medical technicians (EMTs). The wearable Medical Alarm communication pendant is one of the world’s smallest wearable (as a pendant or belt clip) two-way voice communicator.
What communication technology is used?
The MediVoice Alert® Medical Alert Device uses DECT technology at 1.9 Ghz. This allows for super clear duplex voice communication to the central station EMTs. EMS Sentry, Inc® manufacturer.
Do you have to be near the base station for someone to hear you?
No! Because MediVoice Alert®'s Medical Alarm System has the speakerphone right in the wearable medical alarm pendant – you can be anywhere in and around your home. In fact, you can cover up to a 10,000 sq ft home with the Medical Alarm System and still have enough range to go another 100 feet into the yard.
Can I test the range of the wearable medical alarm (pendant/beltclip)?
Yes. Simply use the test button on the back of the MediVoice Alert® wearable Medical Alarm Pendant. Hold the button in for 5 seconds and you will hear a system check. If it says “All systems are OK”, then you are within range of the MediVoice Alert® Medical Alarm Device base unit. You can walk around your home and test this feature at any location to see if it will work from there. Manual instructions are provided.
How do I install the MediVoice Alert® Medical Alarm Device?
Just plug the MediVoice Alert® Medical Alarm Device base unit into your existing phone jack. Your dealer should already have the product fully programmed for you. Programming can even be done for you over the telephone. Manual instructions are provided.
Is the MediVoice Alert® Medical Alarm Device legal to use?
Yes! The MediVoice Alert® Medical Alarm Device is completely legal to use in all 50 states.
Does the MediVoice Alert® Medical Alarm Device use a battery?
Yes, the MediVoice Alert® wearable Medical Alarm pendant/belt clip uses a special rechargeable Lithium-ion battery. There are 2 batteries included. One is in the wearable Medical Alarm being used, while the other is charging in the base charging station. The battery standby time is 3-4 months and it can be tested at any time by pushing the test button on the wearable Medical Alarm. When the battery test shows that the battery is low, you simply replace the battery with the second battery that is charging in the base unit. Just swap the two batteries around every few months.
How can I deal with power outages?
The MediVoice Alert® Medical Alarm Device comes with 4 rechargeable batteries that are installed in the base unit. These batteries are constantly being charged while the base is plugged in the wall outlet. When the power fails, the MediVoice Alert® Medical Alarm Device automatically switches over to these rechargeable batteries which will provide over 24 hours of back-up protection. There is no maintenance needed for these backup batteries.
How many MediVoice Alert® wearable Medical Alarm communication devices can be learned to one base unit:
You can learn 9 communication devices to one base unit. Medical Alarm communication devices can be any combination of up to 9 wearable pendants/belt clips and “Emergency Wall Communicators” (see accessories) into this system.
Are there other ways to wear the MediVoice Alert® wearable Medical Alarm?
Yes, the MediVoice Alert® wearable Medical Alarm can be worn as a pendant, on the wrist, on a wheelchair or on a belt.
Is the MediVoice Alert® Medical Alarm Device supervised?
Yes - the MediVoice Alert® wearable Medical Alarm wakes up a few times each day to let the base unit know that it is alive and well. If the wearable Medical Alarm battery is very low or the pendant has not been seen in 48 hours - the central station is notified.
How do you end an emergency call?
There are 4 ways to end the call:
  1. Pushing the gray System Test button on the back of the MediVoice Alert® wearable Medical Alarm ends the call, hangs up and resets.
  2. The MediVoice Alert® Medical Alarm Device should detect the other person has hung up and will automatically hang up in 20 to 30 seconds and reset.
  3. The EMT staffed central station can terminate the call by pressing “9” on their end.
  4. Push the gray button on the base station to cancel the call.
How do I know the programming is successful?
First – note that there are voice prompts for all the programming options. As you program, you are receiving verbal confirmation of the programming. And, when complete – you can make a call to the central station to test out the unit.
Is MediVoice Alert® wearable Medical Alarm water resistant?
Yes, the MediVoice Alert® wearable Medical Alarm can be used in the shower. The wearable Medical Alarm meets the industry standard IPX-5 test for water-resistance.
What is the warranty on MediVoice Alert® Medical Alarm Device?
We will warranty parts and labor for as long as the original purchaser keeps it monitored by EMS Sentry, Inc®.
What if we no longer need monitoring service before the contract is up? Can it be cancelled?
There is a one year contract and the provisions are, if the person that the Medical Alert was purchased for passes away, or is sent to a Nursing Home or Assisted Living Facility the contract would be terminated and no further charges would be applied or monitoring services.
